It surprises me, a little, because authors like Eloisa James follow the formula perfectly and still manage to create new stories, new situations, and new characters that pull the readers in! I have girlfriends who are writers and girlfriends who are Shakespeare professors.

I do like how she is telling Esme’s story although it would be frustrating if you weren’t reading the books as a series and only as a stand alone.
