The circus certainly lives up to its name – Hans Hands, Remus Two-Bellies and the Snakeboy were all absolutely magnificent. I enjoy the characters in this book the boys exchanged banter and teasing constantly like normal teenagers it made them relatable and more believable too.
Now, I do not think it is. Crepsley is waiting for Darren, fully aware of what has transpired and willing to strike a deal.
I love that Shan obviously planned this as a series but still wrote a full book. It had a very predictable plot bu Finished it in one sitting. One thing leads to another and Steve gets bitten by the deadly spider, leaving him laying near death in a hospital bed. I definitely find this to be a book worth picking up, and I hope some of you give the series a chance! It doesn’t matter what ddu do, because everything works out in the end. cico
The story was interesting and just really enjoyable. I can’t wait to read the next one. It’s a quick read.
A Living Nightmare (Cirque Du Freak, #1) by Darren Shan
The freak show concept turned me off. That whole series was over the top on purpose. It may deal with blood but its well worth it. However, I can see children and some adults who like eerie, yet fun little vampire suspense tales targeted towards older children, really getting a kick out this story.
This is an epic. I used to hate reading I found it a chore. Hey, whatever it takes to get students reading more books! Darren Shan was born in in London. Lots of gore, which I enjoyed immensely. Mr Crepsley was really mysterious, but I also found his character to be very likeable and really funny.

A Living Nightmare
I don’t even like circuses I went to a few as young child, but freao are scary and sad to me. They play soccer, hate school, and are interested in the weird and macabre. Darren has a complicated relationship with his best friend, Steve, who is a very troubled boy, and a catalyst for the events that occur in this book.
But, I loved the frexk. I can see how this series is so popular now and hope the quality continues with each subsequent book. To ask other readers questions about A Living Nightmareplease sign up. Reluctantly, and with much disdain, Darren accepts the situation and becomes a half vampire through an interesting version of vampire to human blood transfusion. Also, if you liked this book and this seriesdefinitely check out his other unrelated series, The Demonata ; I really loved the first book and I can tell you that reading A Living Nightmare after Lord Loss that his temebroso only gets better.
There is always something exciting going on the book. Crepsley to turn him into a vampire where Mr. And in the past he has released books for adults under the names D. The books are clearly geared towards younger audiences, especially with the main character being so young.
It just struck me as pretty awful what has to happen in order for things to work out for Darren’s family. My edition says it’s the Cirque du Freak: Do you think Steve Leopard was born evil?
